RE-ELECT DEMOCRAT

ALEX MYERS
for Borough Council

Councilman Alexander (Alex) Myers is a third-generation Hatboro resident and twice-decorated Army veteran with a rich history of community involvement. His volunteer experience includes working with the Hatboro Fall Fun Festival, with the Union Library of Hatboro, as an EMT-Basic with Second Alarmers, and he previously served one term on Hatboro Council’s Vacancy Board.

Currently, Alex serves on the Borough’s Property Maintenance Board of Appeals, as the President of Hatboro’s Elm Street Philanthropic Board, a board member of the Hatboro Horsham Education Foundation, and serves as a founding board member for The Welcome Project PA, an organization that strives to be a diverse and safe space for marginalized and vulnerable populations. Alex was also previously a member of Hatboro Rotary.

Alex received an honorable discharge from the Army after serving in California as a Korean Linguist, and at the former Willow Grove Joint Naval Air Base as an Intelligence Analyst. As a volunteer EMT-Basic, he completed 4 relief and rebuilding missions in Fond Parisien, Haiti. His final trip included facilitating a 2-day basic first aid and CPR course for 4 local villages that had been built in cooperation with a local orphanage and approved by Haiti’s Ministry of Hygiene.

He holds an M. Psy. In Psychology from Northcentral University, a B.A. in Theater with a focus on stage management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and an A.S. in Business Management from Montgomery County Community College. Alex enjoyed his previous work in theater, and then as an apprentice with the IBEW 380 Union (now 98N). He currently works as a Constituent Services Advisor and Notary Public for State Rep. Melissa Cerrato in Horsham (PA House District 151).

While serving on Council, Alex has focused on our businesses, workforce, and diversifying population as the Chair of the Finance/Grants Committee and member of the Administration Committee. Alex previously served as the Chair for the Environmental Affairs & Parks Committee and member of the Public Safety Committee. He also believes we need to work to stay on track with our 2040 Comprehensive Plan and stay committed to identifying various grants and opportunities that allow us to bring new resources into the Borough without putting the burden on its taxpayers. Alex is the first openly LGBTQ+ member of our Hatboro Council as a proud trans man.
